ECONOMY 7 Copper hot water tanks and cylinders

An Economy 7 cylinder is designed to exploit an 'off-peak' electricity supply typically available throughout the night.

A feature of an E7 cylinder or tank is the addition of a second immersion heater port (unlike a standard direct cylinder that only has one).

The lower of the two elements is typically connected to the economy supply/tariff, the upper heater is usually used as a boost element and operated manually when demand for hot water is high. Our cylinders are supplied with the two immersion heater bosses (the bit you screw the heater into) but immersion heaters are sold separately. Please enquire.

Economy 7 cylinders are coated with high performance insulation to minimise standing heat loss.

The thickness of insul;ation is never included in the quoted size. Remember to add this to the dimensions shown on the table below for over all measurement. (Approx +70mm)

Positioning tappings to your specification does not normally attract a supplementary charge

When sizing a cylinder remember the stated dimensions do not include the thickness of insulation. You must add the thickness of insulation to the cylinder dimension to obtain the finished size. This is most important if the cylinder needs to pass through a doorway or access hatch. Make sure you have enough room to make connections and service immersion heaters.

Illustrations show a shower take off/secondary return side mounted at high level. This is not a standard feature and as with a drain, boiler control stat/sensor pocket or any other feature should be stated as a requirement if indeed required.
